More and more players start playing AA, on the other hand some of us never had the chance to play Infiltration and/or AA...
Here you'll get an overview what is different and what is the same in both games.

Engines:
AA: uses the Unreal8xx engine (the same as the game MobileForces, which is NOT the UT2k3 engine, but it’s very similar (e.g. 8xcx does not has the phsics-engine included).
Infiltration is using the UT engine.
This allows AA way more better outdoor areas with e.g. a lot trees etc.
Indoor AA looks also better than Infiltration, but here it is because the mappers of Infiltration (with very few exceptions) don’t put so much effort into details. maybe this leads them to create more details in the future.

Grenades:
Americas Army:
Frag grenades, flash bangs and smoke grenades (especially smoke is extremly helpful).
Frags are very dangerous but only in direct sight to the explosion.
The smoke grenades are extremely helpful as they smoke with a very large distance so you can really use them in outdoor areas to hide your attacks.
Infiltration:
only frag grenades. The explosion radius is a lot smaller than in AA but in Inf the shrapnels of the grenades are visible and they can bounce of walls/objects.
This means:
in AA you can be very close to an exploding grenade, as long as you have anything in the line between you and the grenade you are safe.
In Infiltration you get more often klilled by shrapnels that fall back from the ceiling or walls than by direct hits. Grenades in rooms and hallways are way more effective in Infiltration than in AA, but in outddor areas ’nades are more dangerous in AA.

Weapons:
Americas Army:
has only a few weapons you can choose from, only rifles, no pistols. You can "ask for a specific wepaon" but it’s decided randomly who from the ones who want the guns get which ones.
The server specifies which grenades you get.
Exactly you have the M16, M4 (short version), M16 with M203, Sniper rifle (which one ?), M249 SAW (Minimi), frag and smoke grenades and flash bangs (did I miss anything ?).
Infiltration:
has a lot different weapons and you can create your own combination. Nearly no limit but the more you carry the slower you become.
You have Berretta 9mm, Desert Eagle, FN Five-Seven, SOCOM, Benelli M3, AKSMU, MP5, FN-P90, FA-MAS, M16 w. M203, HK-69, SIG-551, Robar .50, PSG-1, M249 SAW (Minimi), frag grenades

Armor:
Americas Army:
All players use the same armor.
Infiltration:
in 287 you can decide to wear vests and/or helmets, which makes you more save but slows you down too.

Aiming/recoil:
AA: you have a dot in the middle of the screen, the bullets spray around this point depending on your (invisible) stamina -> you point exactly on the enemy but don't hit him.
Also you can aim with iron sights what gives you more accuracy, but still to aim on the enemy doesn't mean always that you hit him.
Infiltration: No crosshair etc. The point where your weapon points to is not always ion the middle of the screen, the lower your stamina is, the larger the area becomes where your wepon points. To aim you have to use the iron sights but then they reflect 100% the recoil of a weapon: if you point at someone you will definatly hit him.
To kill someone is as hard in AA as it is in Infiltration (or vice versa ;).
The way they make it difficult for the player is different, the result is the same:
You have to be cool and take your time to shoot accurate, if you're acting like Rambo you have nearly no chance.

Mission goals:
Americas Army:
very different for each map. Sometimes your team has to rescue prisinors, sometimes you have to capture 3 areas in a map (the enemy can re-capture them while you're heading for the next one), some maps have a bunch of objectives but you have only to capture some of them to win (and the other team ahs to defend these objectives).
All maps are very complex, it takes a while until you know all possible ways and hideouts, always several ways to reach the key points of the map (most times more then 3 ways to get there).
Most maps are very large so it's nearly impossible to control all "entry-points" for one team.
Infiltration:
287 will allow more complex mission goals, nothing published yet.
Maps are mostly small or medium large, most maps have a more simple layout so it's often pretty easy to control key points.

Gear
AA:
Every player has the same gear: depending on the rules of the server you have night vision gogles.. or not ;). Depending on the map sometimes you can decide to get a M16 or a M16 w. M203, but as mentioned: this is based on the map.
Infiltration 287:
You have different kind of armor and/or attachements to some of your weapons (silencer, flashlight, scope, M203). No night vision.

Overall...
... it’s hard to say what#s better.
Infiltration has way more cool features and is harder to play so it’s more for the "advanced players". But the engine is older, the maps are not so lovely designed as in other mods and worst: no big community :(
My feeling is that Infiltration is more interesting to play over a longer period of time. This is not because you can get custom maps (what you can't in AA) but because of the gameplay: though the maps in AA are higher quality, every player runs around with more or less the same weapons.
Not only that Infiltration gives you more different wepaons but they are also totally different balanced so this gives a huge spectrum of possible ways to play the game.
Though I personally love Infiltration a lot more than AA I understand everybody who plays AA... Let's hope with 287 we get a very good PR and so our community grows like hell ;)
If you haven't played both games until now you should just play both and decide yourself. Hope to hit you soon ;)
