A fedezet:
Az Ember-Szövetség háborúban vesztésre állunk. Egymás után veszítjük el a bolygókat és az ellenség csak közeledik belsõ gyarmatok és egyúttal a Föld felé. Teszi mindent felperzselt bolygók százai és ártatlan civilek milliárdjainak hátrahagyásával. A UNSC minden mozgatható hajóját beveti, hogy megállítsa a pusztító hordát, de hiába. Rendszerek vesznek el úgy, hogy akár csak egy lövés is eldördült volna. Csakis ott menekülhetnek meg a lakosok, ahol három- négyszeres túlerõt tudnak kialakítani csapataink. Vagy ott, ahol feltûnnek a UNSC legendás katonái, a SPARTAN-ok. De ez csak az esetek 40-50%-a…
Sok más bolygóhoz hasonlóan a Kappa Octanus sincs a harcok élvonalában, azonban õt is elérte a Szövetség keze. A UNSC csupán pár szállító hajót, egy korvettet és alig egy ezrednyi katonát tud küldeni, a bajba jutott kolónia megsegítésére. A vállalkozás eleve kétséges sikerû. Hogy lenne képes pár száz ember megállítani a Szövetség több ezres áradatát? Valószínûleg sehogy, de mint annyiszor, most is szembeszállnak a tengerészgyalogosok, hogy megmentsék a bolygón rekedt civileket…
