A teljes név C-HD DVD-ROM lesz.
Miközben a világ a HD-DVD és a Blu-ray formátumok harcát figyeli, a Versatile Multilayer Disc (VMD) kínai formátumot támogató cégek "surranópályán" próbálják célba juttatni terméküket.
Amíg az európai és az amerikai felhasználókat leköti a HD-DVD és a Blu-ray közötti harc, addig Tajvan megkezdte a saját utódformátumának, a Finalized Versatile Disc (FVD) lemezek a gyártását.
Elfogadták a tajvani DVD-utód formátum specifikációit.
Tajvani kutatók egy olyan új optikai lemez formátumot demonstráltak tegnap, mely relatíve olcsón, a Blu-raynél is kedvezõbben teszi lehetõvé nagy felbontású videoanyagok tárolását.
