Interviewed by The Shields Gazette, Fabien Piveteau (the agent of OL 28-year old Ghanian defender John Mensah) has declared that his client has 95% possibilities to join Sunderland. The negotiation could be successfully concluded on Monday.

Lyon have agreed to sign France striker Bafetimbi Gomis for up to 15 million euros from Saint-Etienne.

Gomis, 23, will sign a five-year contract after having his medical at Stade Gerland, Lyon said on their website.

The initial fee will be 13m euros with the remainder made up performance-related add-ons, the club added.

Developed by Les Verts, Gomis has scored twice in four appearances for France and hit 10 goals in 36 Ligue 1 appearances last season.

He is Les Gones' fourth singing of the summer after Lisandro Lopez (Porto), Aly Cissokho (Porto) and Michel Bastos (Lille) joined the club.

Earlier in July, Lyon sold striker Karim Benzema to Real Madrid for a club-record 35m euros plus add-ons.

Végre jó igazolások bár Bastos-ért sokallom azt a 18 millió eurót. Remélem nem járunk vele mint Keita-val. Viszont ez a Remy üzlet remélem, hogy nem jön össze. Hihetetlen, hogy vissza akarják vásárolni.
8-ért eladták azt 15-ért akarják visszavásárolni. Nem Lyon szintû játékos vagy csak ezt én látom így? Francia bajnokságba jó de BL-be egyáltalán nem. 15 millából meg simán vehetnénk egy irányító középpályást.
