"On Thursday last week I was fortunate enough to be invited by Eidos and Elixir Studios to fly over to England and attend a presentation of their new game Republic: The Revolution based in our very own Novistrana!
After a very long flight with the ever polite Air Novistrana, I arrived in a very sunny and warm London and was escorted to my luxurious hotel by the friendly PR people at Eidos. After taking in the sites of this beautiful city I was taken to the ‘Quod Bar’ based in the heart of the city where Demis Hassibas, the CEO at Elixir Studios and Design Director on Republic was presenting the game to a host of English journalists.
The first thing that strikes you when you see the game is how much detail they have put into each of the 3 cities; Pugachiev, Ekaterine and Berezina. As Demis moves the camera into the 3D city view you can easily recognise famous landmarks from our glorious cities, you can even zoom into the turn styles of the famous football stadium!
Demis and his team have worked extremely hard on making Republic a game that everyone can enjoy. You are free to explore the city and rise through the political ranks, recruiting new members to your political party and moving nearer to our capital city Berezina where you meet our great leader. I must point out though that this is a game and we do not condone this behaviour in Novistrana as our beloved President Karasov is Novistrana’s leader for life and no one can go against his policies. There are numerous ways to complete each of the objectives set out in the game and each objective completed will open up a new branch of gameplay options for you. Make no mistake this game is going to take a long time to finish, with many hours of gameplay in each of the 3 cities.
My only concern is that the game seems to not portray our beloved leader President Karasov in a very good way, and I can understand his outrage, although I think that banning the game in Novistrana would be a mistake as it does highlight how beautiful our great country is.
How does the game end? I do not know but I hope for the sake of the team's life that our beloved president is still president at the end of the game and that you end up killed or in jail for life as this would normally happen with any oposition to our leader, I will have to play more and let you know.
This is a game that all Novistranians should embrace. All in all, I am overwhelmed by the level of detail and the technology used in the making of this epic game. Novistrana will now really get the recognition it deserves!
I wish to say a big thankyou to all the people over in England for giving me the opportunity to see Republic: The Revolution. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!"
