Novistrana is very young country which rose from the ashes of the former Soviet Union. It was recognised as an Independent State in August 1991. Today, we have overcome many social and economic problems to turn Novistrana into a progressive, prosperous and proud country. Many people who come to Novistrana end up staying forever.

Location: Eastern Europe, important position at the crossroads between Europe and Asia.

Climate: Novistrana has a continental climate, with four distinct seasons. Winters are typically cold and dry, while summers tend to be hot and humid. The average daily temperature range is -3° to 2° C (27° to 36° F) in January and 16° to 26° C (61° to 79° F) in July; temperatures tend to be much hotter in the Southern parts of the country.
Natural hazards: Very safe country, no major natural hazards. Advise not to leave small children or very elderly alone in open wild areas as wolves and buzzards are quite common. Air and water pollutions also means some areas are dangerous and out of bounds but these are normally marked.
