It was a very hot day in a very sunny June. I a Jamiroquai concert virgin was at my first Jamiroquai concert. I didn't know what to expect, but wat happend was a realy beautiful experience for someone who has been a Jamiroquai fan for 10 years. Dogma the was quite interesting and good and thye played they ste for 30-40 minutes but we were all waiting for the good stuff. After Dogma the stage crew came to prepare the stage and to tune the instruments while we were listening to Aretha Franklin, Lady Marmelade and similar stuff. And then it started with a short Electric Mistress intro which wasnt played live (buu huu huu) the band got in their positions and started playing Canned Heat which was followed by Space Cowboy. Then Jay sad hello while we were clapping, chearing much to his surprise. Then it started again with Cosmic girl which was for all the Cosmic Girls and then Jay said 'We'r gonna play you a song from our first album it's called Revolution' and that is the the place where I just couldnt keep on remembering the setlist I was having to much of a good time to be bothered with that stuff. We cheared, clapped after every song and Jay and the band were wery happy. Neadles to say that Jay was on top form with his funky moves, jumping around the stage.
We were also treated to little Jay gems especialy when he said that he was a 'good boy' and that his mother if she were here would say so he was such an angel tht every night he 'prepared chocolates for his mom', 'did the shopping', 'does his own laundry', 'has never smoked a joint in his life' and 'has never broken the spead limit' with his Ferarri which can go up to 218 mph but he only did 30, and in another performance Jay told the crew to shut the lights and took out his light sabre and said 'I'm 35 but when I have this im 7', we called him 'Darth Mirko' that was funny somebody in a crowd started shouting 'Mirko' (a Croatian name) and the crowd joined in neadles to say that Jay was a little confused he must have thought What does Mirko mean? but it was all good. It was amazing we were loving it and the band was also enjoing themselves I think smiles on their faces ment that they were having a great time also. They also performed to me two songs that they don't perform very often Use The Force and Butterfly for which Jay said was 'for the lovers'. The songs just keept coming and I did'n want it to end but it did with Virtual Insanity and the crowd went crazy, then they said thank you, goodbye and went backstage. But were not having any of that we wanted more and we were making it clear, and after cople of minutes they were back smiling and Jay with his camcoder was filming the crowd and we were treated with a rocking Deeper Underground.
And though my mind didn't want it to end I was so tired from all that dancing, singing, jumping, claping and chearing so I wasn't very dissapointed. It was an amazing show, but I was surprised that they did only three song from Dynamite, Feels Just Like It Should, Seven Days In Sunny June (because it was June) and Black Devil Car which I thought was fenomenal.
I do have one regreat and that I didnt borrow a digital camera from someone, I was so close to the stage so I could have taken some great pictures.
