Magicka status report January 27 (early morning edition)
Hello everyone.
What are we doing now:
Our top priority is get multiplayer running smoothly and become as stable as possible. The additional resources we added to the team are up and working and hopefully we'll be able squash bugs at a faster rate.
Yesterday we released patch #2. I just wanted to give you the latest info and tell you what's going on our end.
So what did last nights patch do?
The good news:
It fixed a bunch of issues and added a couple of new features (key-rebind for middle mouse button). It also took care of some major crashes. Network connectivity has been improved and some players are able to play fine, but that's not good enough.
The bad news:
There are still network connectivity issues and random crasches as a result of this. The fix introduced a problem where players who haven't installed the purchase bonus (Wizard hat) can't play the game. Everyone should have gotten the pre-order DLC so if you just make sure you have installed you should be good. (this is already fixed and should be in tonights patch.)
What can you do? Be patient. Singleplayer/local co-op/LAN works fairly well so enjoy that for the time being.
If you encounter problems and want to share your error report and dxdiag report it would be appreciated. We're creating a bunch of threads with useful tips, active known issues, workarounds and other info.
We're terribly sorry for the poor state of the online multiplayer and we promise to do our best to get it up to specs.
Thanks for being patient and let us know if you have any questions in this thread.
