Cannibal AI :
Less than 1% chance to use player position unfairly for searching
Search range and Roam ranged tweaked
Fear and Aggression stabilized over the different days. Plane crash causes fear which lasts one day
Aggressive Combat tactics modified to allow additional actions like tree and rock use, switching to stalking and backing off
Default Combat tactics modified to increase variation of actions witnessed
Cannibals now slowly die when knocked down (still dragged off by friends)
Vision angles and distances modified to be more realistic
Animal AI :
Spawn area for animals increased to 100m
Despawn distance increased to 100m
Rabbit Flee distance doubled
Bird take-flight distance doubled
Lizard run distance doubled
Animal speeds tweaked
Birds are now allowed in a much larger area around you
Fire :
Fire now only burns the player for 5 seconds (you are the only way to set yourself on fire)
Fire now only burns Cannibals for 10 seconds and will not kill a "fresh" cannibal
Fire more likely to spread to other plants
Combat :
Damage done to player by Cannibals slightly decreased
Damage done by player in Melee increased (too much?)
Player :
Player health now regenerates up to 15% instead of 5%
Stick stamina use reduced in combat
Spear stamina use reduced in combat
Rock stamina use increased a little in combat
Survival :
Chocolate bars give little health at all
Cooked food is the best non med way for health
Meds are picked up instead of being used if health about 50%
Full cold (frozen screen) drastically drains stamina. keep warm
Being hungry (x on stomach) drains energy
Health and Fullness and Stamina increases reduced on all supplies
Graphics :
Tweaked level of detail distances a little to fill out bushes to grass distance
What effect will this have on your game?
It is now important to choose a good location to setup your base. Ensure you choose somewhere without any effigies nearby to stay hidden for a few days (if your lucky)
Cannibals that come to the crash site on Day 1 will keep a very far distance from you (such that you may not actually see them) and they are too afraid to generally approach
After Day 3, Cannibals no longer go crazy. Their aggression is higher, but they will still back off if you push them
You may go many days without seeing mutants, but not always
Moving to a new location if you are found (but not followed) will not have the mutants immediately find you again when you start building
Combat with axes is now actually plausible
Fire is no longer the hack way to kill mutants

This is not thoroughly tested (its a big complex game, and Im one guy!) so please let me know any weird stuff you see!
Installation :
Install the mod into your The Forest Folder, replacing files. (Steam Verifycan be used to revert your game)

Do you need to start a new game? No, however I would highly recommend it, as the default AI will have setup a lot of effigies in your game already, giving them an advantage in finding you.
